Psychedelic Drugs May Give a Glimpse Into Near-Death Experiences

One person described the feeling of “slowly floating into the air” during their near-death experience, while another expressed a profound sense of love and peace unlike anything they had ever felt before. A survey conducted among individuals who had experienced both near-death and psychedelic episodes revealed interesting similarities between the two phenomena. The findings, published in the journal Neuroscience of Consciousness, provide quantitative evidence that psychedelics can serve as a type of window into a rich, subjective state resembling a near-death experience. This study marks the first time such a comparison has been made.
